Common reasons why industrial hydraulic cylinders break down

Hydraulic cylinder finds immense use in industries owing to its vast benefits. Industrial hydraulic cylinders indeed have come a long way in revolutionizing the business which is dependent on these cylinders. If you have deployed a significant number of hydraulic cylinders in your factory or firm, then it is likely that you shall have to incur repair and replacement expenses from time to time. In this context, one must emphasize that designing plays a key role in determining the health and longevity of these cylinders. It is estimated that nearly one-fourth cases of hydraulic cylinder troubleshooting are owing to faulty designs. It is important that you get the cylinders which have been designed to suit the need of the industry you are working in. Some cylinders which are used in applications for which they are ill-designed may not give fruitful results and may soon need repairing or replacement. Hence, it is crucial that you make the supplier understand your requirements and place order for a customized hydraulic cylinder.

Here are some common problems which often need repairing:
i.                    Bent rods: If the rod of the cylinder is not technically designed then it may lead to failure of the rod seal. For instance, if the diameter of the rod is ill-suited to the task the cylinder has to perform, then due to extra loading & pressure, there can be failure of the system. Therefore, it becomes important to take necessary cares and to check and crosscheck the rod of the industrial hydraulic cylinders

ii.                  Ballooning of tube: At times, the tube balloons up and causes problems. The ballooning may be owing to unsuitable diameter or wall thickness. It can also be owing to the inferior quality of the material. This is one more area which the technicians check while performing the hydraulic cylinder troubleshooting.

iii.                Bearing area: The bearing area, at times, also causes some problems. This happens specially if there is too much load pressure on the area which can cause deformity or failure of the seal.

How to get them repaired: If you find that your cylinders are suffering from constant problems and breaking down every other day, then you need to check if something is wrong with the design or not! Quite often, repair companies are able to carry out minor modifications to ensure that the longevity of the cylinders increase and that, they do not experience failure in a recurrent manner. There may also be a case of faulty design which implies that the cylinder, under question, is not designed to do the task it has been subjected to do. It is not that it will fail to function. However, it may not enjoy a healthy shelf life in such a scenario.

It is, therefore, ideal to order a customized hydraulic cylinder from that will be designed keeping in mind the uses you are going to put it into and the nature of your industry. However, if you already have a set of hydraulic cylinders that need repairing or replacement, you can approach an experienced and renowned supplier that will look into the problem.
